It's time for some new shoes, and the new Pearl Izumi shoes look pretty sweet. Anyone have an expereice/opinions on them? Thanks.

I tried 'em on for kicks and liked the roominess (I have Fred Flintstone Feet). The carbon soled models seemed particularly promising. I thought they were U-G-L-Y, but who buys bike shoes for the looks?

I could wear those when running errands in posh areas of the North Shore.

Honestly tho - I do feel ridiculous wearing my blue carnac mtb shoes to the grocery store. Those Pearls look more inconspicuous.

I bought the version with the plastic sole because I could not bring myself to fork over the extra $$ for carbon fiber to scrape along the pavement. The PI's are kinda hideous looking, but they are without a doubt the most comfortable cycling shoe I have ever worn. I don't like Sidis or Northwaves because of the extra mounting plate. The Nike Poggio is a great looking pair, but they don't seem to fit right. My Diadoras are okay, but don't come close to the comfort of the PI's. Give them a try.

Just got them...very nice especially if you have wide duck feet like mine.
