The site is in german, but click on the das-bike link and then click on the various components. It really is pretty amazing how light this bike is.

friction shifting and no bar tape. At least they included pedals in the weight of the bike, unlike those at the Vegas show.

The weight list has Speedplay pedals as 120g, and Speedplay's own website says it's 150g, 25% more than the claimed weight. So 9lbs may not be accurate.

Also, the bike looks ugly, especially the bars/brake levers. And ergo/sti shifting should be the default for high end bikes these days. I mean if you get rid of derailleurs, multi cogs, tires (well bikes used to not have these things, right?) you'd end up with a much lighter bike.

You would think that the bike Mfg. would start incorporing more components together to make a bike lighter and stronger. For instance. Why not make the crank arm and pedal axle as one piece. We could have slip on our Look covers that would either have a Jesus clip or some other locking device that was light. I'm sure there are other places but why not? CATAPULT
