Wow! if the 'spirit of fellatio' is so strong,as those great128

posts below indicate, we really should consider an(un-)official, wholly (dis)organized legislative lobby. (apologies for 'twisting' your name there mate but such a debasement has been calling out to me; Now if I can just work, Absinthma, and Okra in here somewhere...)

I dream of a lane carved out by Jersey barriers for miles on end, on federal roads; let the commuting begin. May OPEC ween from the teet of need a little too. Where's my lane!! (hell, just give me more trains and I'll be happy...)
Well, I was so impressed with the Spirit of the cyclists here, it reminded me of "the spirit of the game"; an official rule of inclusivness for newbies, sharing knowledge, and fair competition that is part of the game of Ultimate Frisbee (as well as ass kicking athleticism and competition)
I'm thinking biking can head up the neo-peace movement; Be nice or get an ass woopin', hmm, maybe that's neo-fascism, but hey! whatever works!Interestingly most books I read about cycling, and this board, do include a good deal of reference to activism and 'mindfulness'. Cyclists might benefit from input on transportation bills, city planning, road planning, crossings, tax issues, and the like if we have a strong lobby..It seems more work could also be done regarding the attitude of bikers to traffic and vice versa; give a guy a brain or a car and they're both suddenly in control of a dangerous instrumentality! We can start with simple lessons in physics; car big and heavy, much momentum...
I support my local 'coalition' and I know of a good deal of local activity, but I'm thinking of a lean mean national thing!
Maybe it's out there, I don't know??

new york based and organised could easily blend with others to form an unbrella for the nation.... why stop there......"1 world - 2 wheels".... lets think big and justly grand.

on a different note

spirit of fellatio bwahahahahaha.... more or less 50% correct

my little joke about how the italian word for fennel (finocchio) also for the larger part is a "bad" and insultory word aimed at those who engage in "the love that dare not speak its name".

its reference was not meant to be subjective or a taunt the traditional recipients of the barb but more as a sneak past censorship, a check on overworshiped nature of things italianate and masochistic and more directly from the girlfriend who never lets me watch a cycling or sporting event without letting me know that all sport in its essence is homo-erotic and of a subliminal nature.

that i spend and enjoy time on this site she now understands that i will be hunched behind this computer in adoration off bike porn with fellow anonymous addicts - it made sense to follow her view with a handle of innuendo.

it was also a personal dig as the three bikes that sit around me all hail from italy (bassano del grappa, passarella, padova - all in Vicenza) as im too stupid and set in my ways (not for long) to dare ride a bike from another country.

so i guess no need for anymore subversion or ill humor - i shall know log in as "spirito" which is apt and not to cause offense which i apologise if i have.

all cyclists are family

"spirito di finocchio" is now just "spirito" ;-)Spirito

hey colks its cool - 128 had fairly if unintentionally highlighted that the handle was inappropriate, no longer funny even to me and was in poor humor which i dont think is indicative of me or fair to forum members eyes that have to see it all the time especially if i claim that all cyclists are family.

i have a love for irony and humor which is always leaning towards bad taste and dark in nature but sometimes i do take it too far at the expense of being demeritous towards others. my bad..

...but 128 - whats that handle about?

"ride on" - very underated song

first time i saw the handle, it kind of whacked me across the head. then i saw there was a diabolical mischief at play, not just another misguided gyrohead but a true gezellschaft at work; but i see the xformation taking place, a maturation from simple mischief to philosopher with more than an ascerbic wit. so, after the chrysalis, let's welcome spirito. ;>)
is gezzelschaft a similar innuendo? (honest question) nmSpirito

when one word that is considered to be culturally lewd and innapropriate (although i live to differ) is posted in the title of a topic. it usually makes for not only interesting reading but a disseminary on language, philosophy and imparts positivity to share with others.

which circuitously brings me to the initial point of my prior handle; that unsavory words should be in every title...

lets say.....what interesting views would transpire from

"campy - fisting - shimano" or "ciccolina - titanium" or even "promiscuous - rims" .

it would undoubtably prove one of the most esoteric, provocative yet educational sites know to the web within minutes. confusing yes...but thought provoking.

well for me it is....its good to stretch the mind and imagination and other things.
Gay Bikers on Acid128

Just testing.

ANYway, I for one found nothing offensive or overtly provocative in the homosexual references made (NOT that there's anything wrong with that!), nor would have ever put the reference together if weren't for the slippery sleuth work of whomever it was who sleuthed slipperily.

But I agree; the words are thoughtful and educational....

Whats the connection with bikers on acid? (whose record I listened to once in maybe 1988 and didn't care for but tops in the 'band name' category for me, along with the band "when people were short and lived by the sea")
just a similar era for me.....NmSpirito

i dont understand.

but a friend tells me that steven soderbergh (sp?) now has the scrrenplay in his hands ...whether thats good or bad is a tough one to say but it could have been optioned by worse.

masterpiece of a book, but it will take a master to make an as worthy film of it - it deserves an visual audience as the book is a cannon of imagery and comic impact.

lets hope ;-)
