Well I finaly got out on the new bike this week. My wife drops me off at work in the morning, afterwords I change drop work clothes off in wifes car and ride home.. Since it is early and I am WAYYYYYY out of shape I have been taking the short way (17.5 miles) mostly gradual climb than a 3.5 mile down hill to the house. I am finding that I am about 10-15 minutes faster on the milage than my old bike (trek 1000). It was the best money spent, next to my new house.

Viner w/full ultegra .... But went from Trek 1000 with full Sora. I think I dropped about 3-4 lbs. (last year first year riding on the road)
Sounds more like, being inspired on a shiny new bike!!nm853

I just did the same thing. I went from a 1984 Gios Super Record to a 2002 Pinarello Prince. I would imagine the weight differnece to be about 4-7lbs. I feel light as a feather, quicker by minutes and best of all my recovery or down time is nothing. After my rides a don't feel the fatigue I experienced with my old bike. I'm sure you've experienced the same, thinking why did that ride kick my ass before and now I feel I could do it 3 times over. A friend said it was all in my mind. I would take that as a complement anytime but I know its not my fortitude. . . it's the bike. But, pushing an extra 4 to 7 pounds around, with heavy wheels, on a beast with down tube shifters isn't really bad training after all.

Greetings...glad to hear that you like your new Viner. I am also considering purchasing a new Viner Pro Team. I would appreciate hearing from a Viner owner like yourself. Frame/paint quality and finish, weight etc.
Drop me a line at or post here if more convenient.
