Ultegra STI, I know you're not supposed to but.....slow-ron

I've got a junk 9 speed Ultegra STI shifter that I'd like to dis-assemble. (Actually I already did) I couldn't get the little lever to shift unless there's major pressure applied to the big lever. I know that these things aren't re-pairable and you shouldn't take them apart and all the warnings but I love to tinker and it's ready for the trash. I found one of the small stamped plates that has a spring detent was broken. I've made a new part with a dremel and a file and I'd like to try it out.

Has anyone out there ever successfully re-assembled one of these? If so I'm looking for advice or a schematic. I've been able to put it back together but something is amiss with my orientation of the parts on the main shaft.

There is an exploded view on the www.Shimano-eu.com website.

Try this:

I pulled this one down already but if you notice they don't explode the shifting arms, that's what I need.

Try the STI disassembly link. I don't know if it is what you are looking for but it may help.
