|I am interested in others experience with Tufo Tires - more specifically the S-3 Lite. What about the use of this tire for Road Racing; - for Criteriums.
Comments on other Tufo models would also be welcomed.

|I rode on Tufo S3 lites for part of last year. I had 3 failures at the valvestem. It seems that the tires are not as straight as it first appears. The tire starts to squirm after a while and that presses back and forth on the valvestem. The tire didn't give me the same confidence as Continentals or Vittorias. I have gone back to riding with a Conti Comp GP on the front and a Sprinter on the back.|

|I run Tufo S-3 Lites on my "climbing" bike on Velomax Ascent Pro wheels. They are fairly light, a bit narrow, and fairly hard rubber. The grip is not very good. They have almost wiped me out on mountain descents where other tires would have stuck. But, they reduce flats a bit more. I would not use them for crits. I'd go with a Conti or Vittoria. There may be other Tufo's that are grippier, but I'm not familiar with them.|

|I'm running a pair on my 404 race wheelset, no problems. Used them in crits, road races..... they're tires. Met another guy who complained about grip, he was running 150 psi in them, well ya. Just because they have a 175psi max rating doesn't mean you run them at that.|| |
