Fast Freddy and Flanders...Wannabe

Well, after his outstanding 2nd place in MSR, will Domo give Freddy the green light to go for the WC jersey in the Tour of Flanders? If so, will he be on his own without any other team obligations or will Domo go so far as to protect him during the race?

that Domo will support him. I read a couple of Domo comments and it's like Fred's placing was a fluke. I think he's capable of some very good results, US Pro and MSR prove it. I hope I'm wrong.

RVV is a Belgian race; Domo is a Belgian team, with a whole lot of Flemish riders who would kill to win the national race. Museeuw will be back and he'll be eager to go at the race one more time; then there's Merckx and Vainsteins who, though not a Belgian, had nothing to show for the maglia iridata last year and will be pushed up front in the event of a sprint.

Not only will Freddy not be given the green light, but I wonder if he'll start that one... And if he does start and get away, I wouldn't be surprised if they pull him back. In any event, he'll be under orders. Domo needs a BELGIAN storybook win this point. Aside from Roubaix and Paris-Tours, 2001 was not a great season and this year, with VDB, the sponsor is going to want something that pays well to the home crowd.

There are seven other Domo riders who could and will want to win.

I predict Axel will jump early with Virenque and Knaven to tow. Museeuw will stay behind to counter and (if he rides it) help Vainstein to a sprint if it comes to it... But it's doubdful has it finishes in a velodrome...

Merckx, I say!

But Johan WANTS it,,, and what Johan wants, I think Johan will get.

Whatever the case, I predict that the winner will be Belgian. None of this come-from-behind-unexpected-Italian Bortolami stuff.
