Has anyone successfully used Shimano chains with Campy 10 drivetrain? Thanks.

This topic has been hashed over a million times. I assume you're asking because you don't want to deal with Campy's permalink or purchase the campy chain tool. Yes, Shimano 9 speed chains, which are narrower than other 9 speed chains, can be used with at least some success with Campy 10, but you don't get the clearance between the chain and cogs that campy intended, since the shimano chain is wider than a campy 10 speed chain.

Why bother with 9 speed chains when there are other brands of 10 speed chains now available? Wipperman 10 speed chains, sold by Excel Sports and many other places, are available in a nickel plated steel version for about $30 and a stainless steel version for about $50. Colorado Cyclist also has an IRD 10 speed chain. Both brands have removable links that require no special tools.
