|It's funny... Golf is a money making enterprize in many parts of the world... yet for most cyclists, the thought of a day good enuff for a round of golf being wasted on a round of golf is unbearable... yet... the ads on this site persist.
The golfing gods have spoken.
"Thou shalt not have other sports besides me"
Remain In Light.

|for the 5 hrs a day I used to devote to a round. Can you imagine that time on a bike?

|Some of our weekend long rides take us past the golf course where my boss plays with is cronies. Inevitably, we start at the same time and so does he, which means by mid-ride we're zooming past the third hole, where he's usually waiting to hit.
Darn, those rides sure make me feel superior.

|I love my bikes but Golf also serves a purpose for me. There's something to be said for beer swilling, cursing & smoking cigars while not caring about cadence, lactic thresholds, aerobic or anerobic, etc... While I wouldn't waste 5 hours every weekend, sometimes it's nice to relax and not worry about fitness.|

|When I was a kid, we used to play bike polo in a parking lot. Maybe we could play bike golf. You know, carry a club and hit the ball w/o stopping. It might be hard on the greens but it sure would speed up the game and you could use the rest of your riding.|

|What a flipping, frustrating sport! Riding is soooooooo much better. That I can do with relative competancy. Golf? I suck. Haven't played a round in over 3 yrs. Don't plan to anytime soon.|

|Golf certainly fits the needs of certain people (status conscious or rich people with lots of free time on hand who needs to socialize with other CEOs, etc., or just someone with a big beer belly), but unfortunately and perhaps fortunately I am not one of those people. I know it may be prejudicial to say that, but really the upper/middle class thing is a big part of the sport, although less "noble" sports, like table tennis, which reminds you of communist China, can be just as much fun.|

|I sold my clubs last year and swear I will never play again. I seem to pick it up every few years and the more I play, the worse I get. Hopefully I have given it up once and for all. I do not suck at riding nearly as much as I do at golf and I get much more out of riding phyiscally and mentally.|

|I love the game. I've got my club's monthly tourney tomorrow then it's off to go racin' at the L.A. Circuit race on Sunday. This is a great weekend lineup for me.|| |
