It has scrolled off now, but somebody posted a topic about f***s a few days ago. Maybe that rascal is to blame. Or the lack of a good, hard rain to clean the streets. Or maybe the lout who tossed out the amber bottle.

Coming home tonight I felt like the handling was squishy. Looked down, sure enough the rear was nearly flat. I debated pulling the tube, but instead just tried giving it some air. The Slime in the heavy thorn-resistant tube finally took hold, and I made it home where I could make a better repair.

I inspected the tire, and pulled out 4 more chunks of amber glass. Found a couple more after removing the tire, both clear. The tube had suffered only a single leak, but an ordinary tube would have f***ted about 7 times.

Riding after dark sure does make it hard to see glass!

you must make a sacrifice to the cycling gods. One CO2 cart and two packs of GU usually works for me.
Maybe you should use heavier tires and tubes! ;-) nmMB1

It might have been me. However I never use the compete "F" word, only the initial. No flats, but I did put a nice cut in the fairly new tire of one of my Michelins, enough for me to keep an eye on it. I'm expecting a new bike so I don't want to plop out any money on new tires, might have to go back to those Performance Forte Pro Kevlars hanging in the garage. Now that I mentioned the "F" word, ever since I switched to co2 in July I have had a total of 2 flats on the road. Must be a message in there somewhere...
