There are some clubs based out in the Inland Empire area. Check out InCycle (mainly out of Pomona I believe). Do a search for Inland Empire/racing/clubs sorta thing. You might want to find a couple shops in the area and give them a call. That is typically what I do when I'm in unfamiliar territory. If you're up for a drive, try the Montrose ride. It's very fast, lots of racers, about 70 miles. Saturdays, starts at Descanso Gardens at 8am. Great ride.

My parents live in Hacienda Hts. and when I visit them, I ride with guys from Diamond Bar Cyclery. That's not too far from Ontario Airport, anyway, so it shouldn't be too much of a drive for you. It's at 1125 S. Grand Ave. (off of the 60 E), phone # 909-861-3349 and the owner's name is Carlos Buonavita. He's a good guy. Tell him Don from Cleveland sent you.

Enjoy the warm weather (39 in Cleveland as I write.)!

Which is, oh, 15 or 20 miles away, there's the Saturday a.m. "Raincross ride." It's virtually all local racers, all the way from Cat. 5 and Masters to the occasional Cat. 1, typically about 30+ riders. The ride is about 30 miles, pretty flat, with a warmup and then some serious hammering. If you're interested it's at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Take the 60 east from Ontario, to 91 west. Exit at Central in downtown Riverside, go north a few blocks. Right across the street from the tall Automobile Club of Southern California building (the only nearby tall building) is a parking lot next to the public library - that's the meeting spot.

Looks like they will be riding from Rancho Cucamonga to Chino and back on Saturday. This is right in the Ontario area. Friendly people.
