|I've got about 1,500 miles on a pair. The gatorskin concept seems to have covered the sidewall problems that some people have with the GP3000. Subjectively, the tire's very fast riding and yes, it's fairly durable against glass cutting through the casing to the tube. Despite their claims regarding the tread being formulated for wet conditions, I don't find this to be the case and I ride in relatively damp (UK) conditions. |
Also, the casing profile is not as round as say a Vredstein Fortezza. As a result, when you heel over to corner, the feel is not that linear as you will initially notice going from the center of the tread to the sides.
Despite sounding critical, I do like these tires and they're certainly worth checking out. I ride them between 105-110psi without problems and also, have not had any problems mounting on Mavic Open Pro rims. Tread wear has been good.

|I ride the Ultra 2000s in a lot of rain and have found them to be very sticky and predictable in the wet. I like the idea of a wet weather tire, but wonder if they're worth the $$$, or if they'd really be much more effective. Thanks for the info.|| |
