Shameless post for donations for the Ride for the Rosesjs5280

Hello all,

I'm coming up a little short on my goal for donations for this year's Ride for the Roses so I thought I'd see if I could drum some more up here at the RBR. The final day for pledges is tomorrow, the 15th. As many of you know, I'm 5 year testicular cancer survivor. My story is very similar to Lance's; same age, same time, similar treatment but no brain surgery thankfully. If you'd like to read more about my fight against cancer check out this link . This is my 2nd year attending the Ride and won't be my last.

Anyway, if you have a few dollars you could donate to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, I would sure appreciate if you could do so in my name to help me reach my fund raising goal. You can make a donation on-line by going to and following the directions. Select "Support a Project Peloton member" and find me via my name, John Spangler in Denver, Colorado. It's a very worthy cause and they will not share your personal information.

I know others at the RBR will also be attending so you may wish to support them as well. I believe jtolleson, Dave Hickey, and originally Elefantino (wish you could make it Mike!) will also be attending this year's ride. Who else am I missing? It would be great to meet you if the opportunity exists that weekend. You can reach me at WA_JOHN@HOTMAIL{NOSPAM}.COM Remove the obvious of course. Thanks in advance for your support!

Have fun - it's always a great ride for a worthy cause - unfortunately, I will miss it this year (I am relocating that weekend from Austin to Albuquerque) - glad to see they brought the century back this year!
I hope to be theregrandemamou

Thanks to all for both your financial and emotional support! I was able to reach my fundraising goal thanks in part to many of you here at the RBR. If by chance, you'd still like to make a donation, you can still do so at . I hope to meet some of you there! I should be wearing a U. of Colorado Buffs jersey and riding a Airborne Zepplin or send me an email if you'd like to make formal plans. I will be signing autographs ;-) Might have to find an elephant to take along in Elephantino's honor. . .

Thanks again to everyone!
