I'm here in LA on business all week and I've hit alot of the local shops.
1. Helens- Local chain store-I visited the Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica and Marina Del Ray Shops. The Marina Del Ray shop is the pro shop with alot of high end equipment. LBS prices

2. Super Go- Santa Monica- great prices if you know what your looking for. A little lacking in customer service but you can get mail order prices on alot of items. I just bought new Axial Pros for $30.00/ea. I also picked up a pair of Forumula Xero wheels for $209.00. I'll report on them when I get back to Dallas and have a chance to ride them.

3. I Martin Import- Nice equipment and very helpful staff. LBS prices.

4.Cambria Bike- Redondo Beach- very little road mostly mountain bikes and BMX

5. Ted ???? Bicyles- Manhattan Beach- alot of high end equipment. Deals in mostly triathalon. Found some good prices on the closeout table.

Most of my travels have been within 20-30 minutes of LAX airport so I cannot speak for the other shops in the area.

Dave is pretty right on. At those shops you'll find the usual large selection of Specialized, Trek and Cannondale. There might be something nice thrown in here and there. Treat yourself to a real treat, visit Velo Pasadena. Hrach has the largest selection of truly high end machines I've ever seen. He's got huge selection of Colnago, Time, Lightspeed, etc. He's got some Marin's, Look, Cinelli, etc. Lots of dreamy material. Triathlete Zombies has some nice stuff, but they're small and don't inventory much. They'll have a neat selection of mostly tri stuff but a good rig or two thrown in here and there as well.

Indeed. Circle Cycle in Torrance or Hawthorne is also worth a look. Email me. We've talked about getting together on one of your trips out here or a ride. I've got a nice rig you can ride.

I'll be back out in June for a week. Let's get together. I brought my speedskates this trip so I still managed to get on the strand everday and get some exercise.

Sounds good. We'll go hammering with my club/team. Early morning rides leave the whole day to work or play.
