Actually, um, I, um, didn't mean it. I, um, love Lance. Um. (nm)Elefantino

From cyclingnews today

An article in cyclingnews yesterday quoted former US Postal team member Cédric Vasseur as saying he had an "overall negative time racing with Lance Armstrong". That statement was incorrect according to Vasseur, who said that it was quite the opposite.

Oops.
Is it possible they're just athletes with egos?cory

Maybe it's about time we resisted the temptation to paint Lance (or any other athlete) as more than he is. Nobody admires what he's been able to do more than I do (two of my family members have had to struggle to get back to normal lives after testicular cancer, let alone compete at that level). But he's still just a person, with weaknesses and strengths, and when you add the ego (in a positive sense, not negative), the ambition and the drive it takes to do what he's done, you may wind up with a person not everyone loves. Then put him in with another athlete of equal ego, ambition and drive: Hey, you've got friction.
