Anyone here riding down route 5 last Saturday around Hartland or North Hartland?

Mackgoo, I spend half the year riding in N.C and the other half in VT. Hmmm...are you a member of GMBC?

No, actually I'm from MA. My parents in retirement have moved back to where my Ma grew up, Hartland VT. I was visiting last week end and happened to see 5 guys on the road so just curious if it was any one here.

The roads in VT suck! Especially this time of year. Its really unintelligent to go out and ride there since there is about 3 inches of SALT on the road and the frost heaves are like mini grand canyons. You can bet the were not having any fun. lol

Oh, I'm sure they were having fun, they were out riding their bikes. But it was pretty windy and you should have seen the "hill" they were about 5 minutes out from.

If one looked like a 16 year old kid on a Lemond, it was my nephew. He's been known to take the 75 mile route home from school in the afternoon. Then again, he does Nordic combined and jumps off the 90M hill in Placid, too, so a little wind and the North Hartland hill isn't an obstacle.

I think I know your nephew, or heard of him. My mother was talking about him last weeek end. Do you know the MacKenzie's/Hoisington's on shute road?

If this appears twice it's because I have a limited intelligence.

Anyway, no, I don't know the MacKenzies or Hoisingtons personally. I too live away.

It seems there's a bit of a culture in Hartland. All the talk in the Skunk Hollow Tavern the night I stopped in was about everybody's ride that day. With the Vt. 100 Miler (trail run) in July and the 50-mile trail run and MTB race in October, there are some great events in town. I am thinking about coming up and volunteering on the 100, I did it once and it was the most fun I've ever had on an all-nighter.
