USE Alien seatpost bolts(6 posts)

USE Alien seatpost boltsbnlkid

I have searched the postings and found several topics on the Alien carbon seatpost, but cannot seem to find any information on where to find the titanium bolts. I have sent an email to USE. Still waiting for a response. Does anyone know where to get the 3mm titanium bolts that are used in 27.2mm carbon seatpost? Like a moron, I have stripped one of mine and cannot get it tight enough now.

Thanks
VERY likely an OEM replacement part only......... nmCT1

I emailed them when I first got my seatpost and told them that I thought that the heads on these bolts were going to be very easy to strip. I asked them for extra ones even though I have not actually stripped mine. After emailing a couple of more times they finally sent me an extra set.

I haven't had any problems with the hardware on mine as of yet but I think the design of the clamp in general is a bit funky.
I do doubt if replacement bolts are a hardware store item. I'm also a bit disappointed to hear about USE customer service. You would think that when you sell 3 dollars worth of carbon tubing and a clamp for $130 you could at least reply to an email. (not that their silly light seatpost is coming off my bike any time soon :-)

might try www.use1.com or you could look into the Easton CF MTB post. Personaly don't like the Easton clamp but the post is only 180gr at 350mm length.
