I'm ready for a nap(4 posts)

I'm ready for a napHumbert

I fnished my long ride of the week and feel pleasntly sore (walking up stairs hurts) but mostly I feel like taking a nap. Its a wonderful drowsy feeling that I wish I could get every night. I don't nap but get work/errands done and feel none the worse but I often wondered whether there is any significant benefit to a quick 30 minutes after a long ride. I have read that pros often catch some zzzs after rides. Any thoughts/comments other than telling me to get off the board and go to sleep?

Can't see that a short nap would be better than just laying on the couch; but if it keeps you from chugging that post-ride beer, that may be an advantage!

usually ends up a 2 hour snooze-a-thon. I've started skipping the nap, drinking a recovery drink and finishing the day eyes wide open (and a little sore)

You know I never napped before.
But since Sept I have been taking short ( 20-30 minute)
naps after long rides. ( over 3hour rides )
Im hooked !
Feels great recovery wise.
Could also be that Im getting old? ;-)
