Does anyone have any info on Motobecane? I'm a newbie to road cycling and am thinking of purchasing a Record ($600). Any advice would be appreciated!
I'll just post this link and then get out of the wayMcAndrus

I bought a Motobecane Record from Bicycle Discovery in San Diego two weeks ago. I like it a lot and I paid $550 for it which I thought was good. I shopped a long time and could not find anything else with a carbon fork. As a starter bike, it seems great to me.

a related question was way overcovered earlier. I for one would like to see some discussion on OTHER aggressively priced bikes BUT in steel. Like Jamis, Mercier, KHS, Cervelo ~ these are all under discussed I think, if you look at the value they have.
the Mercier and KHS get my votejonaschar

I think if you shop the specs the Mercier Aquila and KHS Flite 500 clearly are the best steel bikes at this level. I shopped that 2 months ago - now it is easier to do since bicycling.com lists all the specs
