most stuff carried on a bike?kenyee

Strangest sight this morning:
Some guy on a MTB was headed down the street carrying a door under an arm. On the back of his bike were strapped two 5 gallon drums of paint on the rear pannier (buckets were carried end to end so he could balance them).

So what's the most you've carried on a bike? :-)
A pony keg and a case of wine coolers.....mixinbeatz

I was in college, and I made a voyage of about 15 blocks carrying a pony keg on my top tube, and a case of wine coolers in my messenger bag(in case the cheerleaders showed up!!!). I never really got to pedal, lowered the seat about three inches and pushed with one leg and coasted the rest of the time. Got a few honks for that one.
LOL. You should have gotten a friend to take a pic :-) nmkenyee

32-gallon garbage can; four 12-foot 2x4scory

Couple of years ago I needed a new can and happened to find them on sale at a local hardware store. I bought it, then when I got outside, remembered I was on my bike. I jammed the lid down inside (lid & can were plastic) and put the can upside down over my shoulders, holding it tilted back so I could see. Worked fine until I turned into the wind.
Last summer I saw four 12-foot pressure treated 2x4s alongside the road on my way to work. They were still there on the way home, and they're handy to have around, so I tied two on each side of the top tube with some cord I had in my seatbag. Carried them from the freeway exit to my house, almost three miles.
Spare tube - never again!Crankist

Does that count? Thought my rack was going to break.
Saw a guy with a tv on the top tubeTypeOne

I wanted to ask him for the story. He had a beat-up old mountain bike, a full-frame backpack loaded with stuff, and a 30-something inch Sony between his knees. Just kicked out of his girlfriend's apartment? Stole the bike to transport the tv? I'll never know.
