I read the reviews for the 1upUSA trainer. Is this thing for real. The reviews sound too good to be true, almost as if the manufacturer staged them. Opinions?

I've had mine for about three weeks, and have been riding it every other day. This is by far the best investment I've made this year. I did have to wait about 3-4 weeks to get it, since it was backordered. FWIW, this is the best construction on any trainer I've ever seen or ridden. It's easy to mount a bike on, has a fairly realistic resistance curve, and can be packed away in less than two minutes. Before purchasing, kurt kinetic, cycleops, performance, and minoura were all in the running. I've ridden all but the KK, so I can't offer any objective info on it, but the 1up is on a completely different (higher) level than any of the other ones that I tried. As for reliability, I can't really comment, as I've only had it for 3 weeks.

Thanks for the feedback. Mine should ship Monday. 1upUSA claims lifetime warranty on all parts but to be safe I am probably going to see if I can buy an extra friction pad and put it away for a rainy day. I'll make that determination after riding it a while.
