|Anybody know if the same general rule applies to bib shorts as it does to shirts where an XL is more like a L in the US?

|I have had one experience in ordering Euro shorts and for me a 2XL (Santini) fits more like an American Large (which I wear from Performance).
I ordered the Euro XL and it was a bit, um, snug.

|Have many euro shorts. It somewhat depends on the manufacturer (santini, castelli, assos, giordana, nalini, biemme, sportful, giessege, etxe ondo and many others)At 6'1" and 33-34 i wear a large across the board, but i have a short inseam for my height. I am at top of large if that helps. Spanish paints and tops are in general smaller than italian, especially tops. Bottom line, general rule applies somewhat, but not near as much as with jersey tops and jackets.|

|Last year did a week long tour. The sponser of the team was alocated by the race organisers. We ended up being Degeest sport. This sponser was the supplier of the tops/ and shorts for the tour. Anyway we turn up and collect the clothing and go to try it on. The sizing was numeric 2-5. Anyway none of the shorts fitted they were too small. I pissed my self laughing watching our team sprinter who I was rooming with trying to put on a pair of size 3's. He couldn't get them over his calfs. Anyway we ended up wearing our own shorts for the week. It transpires that the year before they had order shorts 1-2 sizes larger and they didn't fit anyone well too large, and everyone should know there is nothing worse than a saggy crotch in a pair of cycling shorts. I now fit my size 2 having done some hard riding and dieting this summer, before they cut the circulation off to my legs. The moral is ask for measure sizes not sizing numbers.|

|bikejerseys.com Hank will ask you for some specific measurements before buying/ordering. He knows the conversion of what he sells to the stats you provide and the key is to be HONEST AND ACCURATE. He is a Santini and Nalini guy.|
