Has anyone been to the previous bike shows? I was wondering if they have dealers selling last year's clothing at discounted prices, I need a new pair of shoes and thought this might be a good opportunity.

Thanks.

The show is boarderline tacky with a carnival like atomsphere. There will be a few bargains mixed with all the junk that is sold there. One does not need to go to this function to learn anything because you won't. If you want to learn something go to your local bike shop. But after months of rain it does draw a crowd every year. People are bored so they will go to anything.

I'll disagree with the above post. The atmosphere is a little carnival; there are events happening. Speakers, demo's, test rides a exhibitions. There are manufacturers, dealers, vendors and stuff. One will not necessarily "learn" something, but one will see new things, things that one didn't know existed, be able to speak with frame makers, talk to someone who offers bike tours etc. It's very much like a boat show or auto show, glitz, hype, some really great deals on stuff and a huge amount of info.
