I have looked everywhere on the internet to no avail. Does anyone know Eddy Merckx's height and weight during his racing years?
165lbs and 5'11" (or same weight & 1" taller than lance) nmjohan burnt eels

I know he road a 58cm frame. He looks to have been around 6'1" (just my guess based on frame size and photos). He and Indurain are often noted as comparable in size/stature. It would surprise me to learn he was only 5'11" (I am not saying he wasn't) tall.
what is your source for that?xxl

I thought Indurain was taller, like 6'5" even (Big Mig)?

I think that is the pre-cancer Armstrong weight. Last year at the medical check-up that all the riders must take before the TdF he weighed 147 lbs. Which is just about 8 kgs which is the number I've seen quoted as the difference in his weight pre-/post-cancer.
Right, Lance is much less than 165. Indurain...tempeteKerouak

Well I guess my source was wrong, I'll have to see where I got that information. A recent issue of Cycle Sport magazie had a big spread on EM. One thing, the boy could ride..

It's amazing how much information there is out there, but I have only seen his height and weight printed once. I always thought he was taller maybe because of Axel being 6'3". In the book "Eddy Merckx: Greatest cyclist of the 20th Century" there is no mention of his size or his bike size, which I find strange considering his importance.
On the Vintage Velos website they have his 1973 bike and it's measurements, which were 58.5 ctc seat tube and 57 top tube.
Anyway, thanks for the responses to my frivolous question.
These are great sites!!!! NMDINOSAUR
