Velo News is the only serious American racing mag. They represent the bike culture out of Colorado and the West.

CycleSport is out of England, editor is Phil Liggett, the guy who's been narrating the Tour de France races for probably 20 years on English language TV. His mag. is full of blasts from the past, great pictures, as well as detailed coverage of the European road racing scene. American road racing will probably never equal the complexity or popularity of the European scene. CycleSport's a great read. It always takes me a few days to get through it, compared to about an hour with Bicycling Mag.
Agreed. Hey . . . how do I get Bicycling to STOP sending . . .morrison

their rag to my house 4 x per mo? It seems that every time I order something that costs more than $100 over the internet, I get a 'free' trial subscription to Bicycling. I got 4 copies of their last issue! (I threw three of them in the recycling hopper, and I used the fourth to light the kindling in my fireplace.)

Also . . . doesn't Cycle Sport publish a weekly too? I think it's call Cycle News, or something like that. I saw it at the news stand once, but I haven't seen it regularly.

I got a subscription invoice from this mag. the other day. I'm going to let them send me a few issues, but I'll be damned if I'll pay it, even if it's only a funky 14.95. I didn't knowingly subscribe to that mag., and if some website cookie did it, those greedy fools have to know that this form of "slamming" won't work.

Fortunately the local video-magazine store has CycleSport, but haven't seen the weekly.

It really depends on your focus. I personally like Cycling plus. The only draw back being a British mag. all the news is from over there, and I'm really tired of hearing about David Millar.

I have a subscription to both Cyclesport and Procycling. These are the best magazines if you are into European racing. Some months I believe Procycling is better than Cyclesport, but they both blow away anything we have here in the U.S. I still read Velonews and Bicycling magazine.
If you are really gung-ho get a subscription to Cycling Weekly from England. It keeps you up to date once a week, except you are a bit behind because it is being sent from the U.K.
