I'm a regular reader of this message board, even though I don't wright all that much. However, I felt the need to because there are a few things that I just don't get lately:
-Why the hell are there so many people posting messages? seriously, theres like 50 new topics today!

-Why is everyone all of a sudden making fun of Cherry1? I mean, yeah, his posts are pretty irritating and boring, and you don't get much out of them, but that can be said of about 80% of all people in this message board. So, why did you choose Cherry1?

-Third and lastly, this is a question I've been wanting to ask for a long time: Do any of you have any other hobbies/passtimes besides biking? if so, which ones? the reason I ask is becasue I've recently been thinking of taking up the bass guitar...

Well, thanks for any and all answers...

I think the second question's answer has everything to do with the first question itself. The mass postings have been coming from Cherry for the most part. Up to 10 posts in 1 hour at times. I won't jump on the bash Cherry bandwagon, but this person likes to ask really basic questions instead of doing a little research first. Multiply that times the number of posts he makes, then add the childish replies he comes up with and POP! I think Cherry has made himself the proverbial rock target/turd in a punch bowl.

In the past there have been some "what else do you do?" threads. I play bass guitar, or at least try to. Having played guitars and keyboards, the bass is easier to learn and improve at. I'll never be a Jaco, Flea, or Getty Lee, but it can be fun to learn bass lines when playing along with your favorite tunes. Other favorite things to do are surfing and fishing, but arthritis has slowed all of that down. I'm even getting heavily into gardening after moving to a house. It's something nice to do with my wife since she doesn't ride. Big projects can provide a good workout even!

Keep the faith, Boris. Hopefully this recent trend in here will deminish quickly.

But really only as a fall-out of playing other things (lead, piano) - it can be a bit dull to play on your own, unless you are recording. Might as well play lead - it's only another 2 strings from the standard bass, and you'll pertty much have to go to 5 or 6 string bass eventually anyway...

Mind you, DOUBLE bass, there's a challenge....
