Record Levers & Cinelli bar(3 posts)

I am building my first road bike. I have an 8-speed Record groupo on it. The bars are Cinelli EXA bars, they are 6 sided like a stop-sign. I cant get the levers to mount solid to the bars, I tighten as much as I can but putting alittle pressure on the hoods they move up/down and side to side.

Anyone know if its an incompatibility issue? Unfortunatly the mechanic I use isnt going to be in untill Tuesday. Fortunatly he has to have the bike before its rideable anyways, so its not a huge deal.

I plan on getting different bars once my wallet recoupes from buying the rest of the bike (bars came with the frameset).

Anyone have any ideas I can try?

Thanks
Matt

Not sure about the compatability issue, but whatever you do, DON'T overtighten the ergo clamps. They break (yes, it's happened to me) and there's nothing worse than wanting to ride but having to wait 3 weeks to get this sometimes hard to obtain part in.

I know the waiting story all too well. After 3 months of waiting for a suspension bushing from Trek I am finally back on my mtn bike.

I decided to let the mechanic deal with it :)
Thanks for the info.
