Anyone ride around Chattanooga, TN?DT

I live about 5 hours away in Mississippi, and am currently in pilot training for the Air Force. I've flown over Chattanooga several times in the past few weeks, pretty low (1,500 feet or so) and landed at the airport for lunch. While flying in and around the hills there, all I can think about (other than maintaining aircraft control, of course!) is riding on all those awesome roads there! I'm thinking about driving up the next long weekend I get...would it be worth my drive? Thanks!! :o)

I live here in Chattanooga. I think it would be worth the trip. There are a lot of good rides in the area, from rolling hills to mountains. The mountains are just big hills though. Most of the area is at around 600 ft above sea level and the mountain tops are only around 1700; no 10k ft mountins here. BUT, they are close enough together where you can ride over 2 or 3 in 60 miles or so if you like hill work. And if you don't want the big hills there are a lot of choices that are less hilly. There is also a lot of bigger stuff just NE of here. Also lots of quality MTB trails if you're into that.

Let me no when you'll be up this way, we can hook up for a ride or I can suggest some good routes for you.

What are you flying?

Thanks for the reply. Right now I'm flying a T-1, the military version of the Beechcraft 40. Send me your email if you don't mind and I'll keep it for when I want to come up. My email is Thanks!
