|I was reading about your mixed cassette below, maybe you
or somebody else could answer this...
Is it possible to take a 25 from an HG-70 cassette and
put it on BEFORE the grouped cogs of a Dura-Ace cassette,
and make up for it by dropping one of the smaller single
I have a race in a couple weeks that has some nasty dirt
road climbs that a 25 would really help, but I'm too cheap
to spring for a new cassette.

|but I heard about it from a guy who claimed he did it.
You'd need to put on hub 25t, put a spacer from HG-70, drop one of the smaller cogs on you 12-23 DA (13,14,15 or 16) and put DA cluster/cogs on. Alternatively you could drop 12t, but you'd also need to use 13t and lockring from you 13-25 HG-70.
Be careful if you run DA hub with Ti or any other wheel with Al freebody you may damage it in 39-25 combo (assuming you are strong/big guy)
Also check Sheldon Brown's site he has a write up on custom cass building good luck

|Shimano make an Ultegra cassette in 13-25, the 25 is an individual cog, code #10P25B4-2. I bet it would do the job for you. You may be able to buy it from www.sheldonbrown.com.
|Thanks guys. That helped a lot! (nm)||speed-chump|

|The Ultegra 13t cog with built-in spacer is code # 10P1300B, you'll need it to replace the 12 and 13 to make room for the 25. I've ordered that part from Sheldon Brown.
