My wife is springing for some new shorts for me for Valentines Day. Lucky me!!!!

I had been hearing a lot of good things about Voler shorts, but I have a question about the sizing.

I am 6"3" and 205 w/ a 35" waist. I looked at the size chart and, according to it, I should be in a Large. However, I have always worn Mediums and they have fit fine.

Now the question...do Voler shorts run true to size or are they a bit generous in fit?

THanks,

I'm 5 9.5 @ 148lbs 31in waist and a medium fits me pretty well. Can not imagine you would fit in a medium comfortably.
Hope this helps.

The Voler size charts have been pretty accurate for me. One good thing about Voler is they include a postage-paid return envelope so you can exchange the shorts (or whatever) for a different size if you get it wrong. Finally, get the BIB shorts -- you won't regret it.

I'm tall also, and like shorts that are a little longer.

How does Voler compare to other brands in this catagory?

Thanks

I'm 6-5, 200 and I wear Performance Elite large. I find the Performance bibs are a little better cut for people who are tall of torso than the Volers, which are nice also but don't fit me as well.

Performance is also cheaper. And they're on sale now.
And no, I don't work for Performance.

I would agree on getting the bibs -- and Voler's prices are excellent on bibs. I'm 6'0", 165 and use the mediums. I wouldn't want to be any taller using the medium bibs. Go to size large...

BV:

i'm 6'2", 187#, 36" waist. have moved to voler and buy a pair every time they're on sale. they're a snug fit, but mucho comfy, and have held up well so far. zero complaints. also, the baseball-cut synthetic pad is far superior to the chamois i used in the past.

I had the same type question, but i was concerned about xxl versus xl. i just called 'em and talked to their guys, who in turn asked a customer in the store about their take on the difference, and i went with xl (haven't had a problem!). their customer service and order turnaround time is exceptional.

by the way, they send a return priority mail envelope, including return postage, for just in case the shorts DON'T fit. how can you go wrong?

I have a pair of Voler bibknickers, I am 6' 180, 34" waist, and they (large) fit like they are supposed to. I also have some Santini's from www.bikejerseys.com and they are outstanding as well, no seams in the chamois except on the outer edge. Hank gets you the right size by body description, I am in XL in the Euro sizes, a 5 I think? Santini's are lower priced than Voler, Voler has colors, Santini can be had as team kit if wanted.

I've got both brands. For $40, you can't beat the Santinis. But the Volers seem to be made from a slightly heavier/thicker fabric, which I prefer. For the same price, I would take the Volers. But I'm a cheap bastard, so I ordered the Santinis for my most recent pair. However, Voler has their bib knickers on sale right now for $45 for members of their e-club, so I'll probably try a pair of them as well.

While we're talking about Voler, I think their jerseys are the best. They actually fit like American sizes so I can order them without wondering if they'll fit. I've ordered several European team jerseys and I've had to return them all because I can't seem to find one that fits me right. Voler's regular prices on jerseys ($50) are pretty good and they frequently put them on sale for $30 or so. I picked up an Italy jersey and Don't Tread on Me for $32 each in January. Nice colorful jerseys and I don't look like a billboard for European corporations.

The straps are too short, but they stretched out eventually. Waste was just right. You sound like a large to me.

I just received a some Voler knickers, size large. I'm 6'2", 225 lbs and they fit fine. However, I generally wear a large size in shorts. In any case, Voler includes a prepaid Priority Mail envelope for a "no cost" exchange in case your order doesn't fit. If you want a refund, they'll charge you $3.95 for return shipping. They also include some candy with your order. My knickers came with some Tootsie Rolls.

I recently ordered some Castelli shorts for my wife from another mail order house and ended up returning them because we didn't like the quality. I spent $12 between having them shipped to me and then the return shipping. The Voler prices along with the prepaid envelope makes it a good deal.

I am 6'1" and 190, 35" waist, and I like the Voler XL--fits me like a glove. I do have a bit of a bubble-butt, though.

Pretty sure you would be a large.
I also agree with Lone give the Santini bibs a try you won't be disappointed.

I have the Volers & they are good too but the Santinis are actually better IMO. Not to mention bibs pro quality for 40 bucks???

Hank is also great to work with.

Good Luck!

I bought the bibs in large. I'm 5'11", 190lbs, 34" waist. They seemed a little on the tight side when I first put them on but the fit is really ideal.

If I was 6', 200lbs, 36" waist I would definitely go to XLarge
Here's how to save $13 on their bib knickers this monthTig

I discovered this after ordering them, but you can learn from my mistake. Simply join their free E-club to receive a weekly newsletter with specials: http://velo1.voler.com/joinlist.asp The special this month is on the bib knicker for $46.95 instead of the usual $59.95. I'm sure shorts will be one of the specials next month.

As for fit, I bought their small bib shorts and knickers, but I am actually in between a small and medium. The small's fit better than other maker's small size, which means they are ever so slightly larger. I love their quality and service.

I had to return and get a bigger size than my bibs. They make it real easy to exchange though.
