Hi,
I read your post about breaking your head tube. How did u get it fixed? I cracked my head tube also and torn my Right shoulder AC. Was it under warranty? Was it for free or at a cost? Did you deal with Trek or the LBS? How long did u have your bike, my was only a month and a half old. Please give me all the details about how you went about to get this fixed.

Please help me.

Trek's warranty states that their frames will only be repaired if the damage is because of manufacturing defect, not an accident. So you have to pay.

What I did was go to the LBS that sells Trek; they have a good relationship with the Southeastern rep, who I also know. The damaged frame was sent to the factory, where it was rebuilt, repainted and re-decaled. (I was given a choice of any paint/decal scheme in the catalog; I chose white Postal.) It took 4 or 5 weeks, as I recall. It cost me $670, which was the LBS's cost, plus shipping. (New OCLV 120 frames have a retail of $1,400).

My bike was about two years old when it happened.

I hope this helps, and hope your shoulder heals soon. I am also in a right-arm sling, having bruised my rotator cuff and other things inside my shoulder in my car accident.

Fwiw,
Mike
