For those looking for a winter road shoe, I just received the Sidi 'Freeze' shoes tonight...same Lorica material construction, three velcro straps plus the 'high-top' (pile lined) section closes securely with a velcro closure and also comes with a 'cover' plate for the sole, should you decide to ride pedals w/toe clips (i.e., if you don't want to install cleats) [They're not available in the USA; you'll have to order from one of the Eurpean sites ~$145; shipped on Jan28/on porch Feb. 4]

Those are not cover plates, they are Look adapters. I have been riding the same shoes for over a month and I really like them.
