This may sound wierd, probably get crap for it too, but can you use spaces on the bottom side of the headset?

Threadless headset, put spaces under the crown race. Reason being, the frame I am getting uses a special fork, I forget the exact numbers, but its something like 410 from axle to race, compared to 360 on normal forks. I wouldnt mind putting a lighter fork (EC90, or something like that). But dont want to mess up the geometry of the bike. And NO getting a new frame is NOT an option.

So.. Can it be done?

Thanks. Oh yeah, 1" if it matters....

The crown race needs to fit very tightly on the fork, spacing it from the bottom wouldn't give it the necessary fit. It also needs to be very level, and I don't think the spacers would have the required tolerences.

Anyone know where to get a custom fork made? Carbon, light weight, etc. But with that extra height I need.

Thanks for the reply.
