Those things were heavy, ugly, and looked like they could decapitate body parts. Good riddance. Spokes rule!

Sissy bars were great. Mine had a purple pad and an electric turn signal. They only look good on a bike with a a banana seat, big fat slick and a stick shift, though.

The real problem was that they had too many spokes. They tried to have 8 spokes where a good 3 spoke wheel is a lot tougher, more aerodynamic, and won't collapse.

Come on they were more aerodynamic than the spoked wheels! and dangerous?? maybe if somebody stuck there hands or head LOL in a wheel while it was moving. I used them a few years ago and the thing that made them work for me was putting on those xbeam braces to stiffen up the wheel. Those wheels were good for time trialing.
didn't they slice someone's knee up in a pro race? (n m)ColnagoFE
