Since there has been some inquiries about this frame and bike lately, I started a Yahoo Group dedicated to info on the Y Foil.

There are spec sheets and company product shots posted for easy access to the hard to find Y Foil specs.

All are welcomed!

Nothing against the bike really, but it's 4 years old and no longer in production because it didn't sell well? It's non-UCI legal and not all that lightweight. Plus you can't really mount 2 water bottles on it. What's the deal? Treks just aren't sexy.

I'm sure many people say what you ride isnt sexy as well.

Each their own.

And WTF IS UCI to most people? To me, and many others, its nothing, we dont race (if we do we have other bikes for it). Some people prefer TT/Tri, which they are still legal for. And the total frameset comes in around 5#, thats still ligther then alot of bikes. I was looking at a Ti frames bike, was 4# for frame, then another 1#+ for fork.

Water bottle mounts, got one on bike, one on seat. I for one use a Hydration pack, so couldnt care about the one on there anyway.

what a sight you must behardeeharhar

When was the last time you participated in a UCI sponsored event? How many UCI sponsored events are there in the United States each year, maybe 1 or 2? The UCI doesn't mean squat to 99.99999% of the people around here.

The Y-foil was(is) a great bike, Trek just couldn't figure out how to sell it. Have you ever ridden one? You might have a different opionion if you did.

My Softride is not extremely light or UCI legal, and has only one water bottle mount, but it is undoubtably the best bike that I have ever ridden. THAT is why I ride it.

To each his own!!!!
