in my opinion that paint only looks right with lugs and silver bike parts. My $.01.

done that! just make sure you get the correct decals for the replica paint job. the ones on that frame are the corect decals. get 'em from gita sporting goods, merckx's importer. make sure the painter paints it the right orange, too! the guy that did mine, painted it twice b/c he didn't like the way it turned out the first time! tape off the stays too. without the stays done, it's too plain.
what are the decals on the seat tube?fred!

I think he posted before that it's a Corsa 0.1 that he repainted.

it is indeed a corsa 0.1 that i basically ruined commuting on it for an entire winter. i got it in early 1996. i sent it to frame finish in clearwater, florida, to a guy named mark schroeder. he used to paint the frames that were imported from europe for ten speed drive. he does excellent work. i can't find his #, but the guys at open road bicycles in jacksonville will be able to hook up anyone who wants a great repaint. call 'em at 904/636-7772 and ask for scott gross. i got his "deluxe" package wich includes:
complete stripping, 2 coats of marine primer, 4 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear. it was about $400 including the complete molteni decal set from gita. well worth the cost. i still have the chrome fork, but the straight carbon quickened-up the handling and is much stiffer. it will be retired at some point early in the season and only used for the friday beer ride!

You might consider doing it in the red and white Fama? paint scheme. I would even use DeRosa decals.

Nope, not cool. The bike is too big to be cool. The handlebars look goofy too, too big again. The wheels look like toy wheels with plastic spokes. What that, about an in and a half of spacers piled under the stem? If it was a smaller sized frame, say a 53 or 55, it would be cool.

I agree with Mr. Judge.

I think the best looking frames are from 53 - 55.

Anything bigger looks too gigantor and smaller looks to lilliput.

I think the best looking frames are 57-59 center to center. Anything smaller looks like something that should be ridden by a little brother trying to hang out with the older kids, and anything bigger looks like something built for Shaq as part of a publicity stunt. I ride a 58. Let me guess: You ride a 54? ;-)
