|I found out recently that I am suffering from Delayed Onset Fat Syndrome, commonly known as DOFS. This is a still largely unresearched problem that afflicts thousands of people worldwide.
In my case, I managed to make it through the holidays without any significant weight gain. But now, suddenly I find I have put on 5-7 pounds. This can't be from anything I did, so the only explanation has to be medical. I didn't consult a doctor, or even someone who played a doctor on TV. But I am convinced that this syndrome is real that clearly I suffer from it.
Is there any hope for me?
Anyone else have the same experience?
Is there a support group for DOFS?

|I've never heard of this syndrome, can you refer me to a website? I have Old Guys who Get Fat In The Winter syndrome, however last holiday season I managed to drop weight, accomplished by not eating. I drink a lot of coffee also, curbs the appetite and keeps me wired, that's about all it does for me...keeps me close to the bathroom also..
double expresso is my poison of choice...I had to give up booze also...old guys can't handle the calories...imagine a summer without a cool one? Sob, sob..Same for soft drinks..

|And what age does this set in? It seems like you can eat nothing, drink lots of coffee (and water), exercise and still gain weight in the winter.|

|ohhh.....that's what I have! I knew there had to be a name for it. You could form the support group and I would join - along with several others I know. I also have some kind of OCD with regard to full bags of salty potato chips (and those little Hershey kisses, which must be eaten after the very salty potato chips).|
