Anyone ever ride a Colnago Ovalmaster? I am a strong, muscular rider and I want a frame for centuries. Any comments appreciated!

Rick,
I ride a 2000 Ovalmaster and have loved it. I am comparing the ride to my previous bikes (Lemond Zurich and Trek 1000). When I started riding the Ovalmaster I was weighing 210 lbs and the frame felt solid and light. I don't race but use the bike for distance events (ten centuries last year)and have been very pleased with my comfort after long rides.
Hope this helps,
Stoutga

I have been riding a 1999 for about 1.5 years now. It was a dramatic improvement over my Specialized Allez Epic Carbon. I didn't have a carbon fork with the Allez, so it's pretty hard to tell what components had what effect, but he ride is way smoother and the general handling and maneuverability is 300% better.

The front derailleur limit adjustment is a little difficult. When adjusting for the large chainring, you need to set the derailleur just a whisker away from the chain when on the smallest cog so you can get to the 2nd to largest cog without rubbing. Similar adjustment for the small chainring. This may be due to the short chainstay length?

All in all, it's a great ride.

Good Luck,
Bryan
