|I have never riden a road bike before. I do however want to look into purchasing one. I would like to get a fairly inexpensive one for my first bike. I am very active already but would like to do some high miles for an extra, enjoyment and cardio. Could anyone please send me some information on what I should look for, price range and brands please. Your help and knowledge is greatly appriciated.

|the best thing you could do would be to go to a (LBS) local bike store (if there's one near you) and talk to them about what you're after - the most important thing when you're starting out is fit so make sure you and the LBS staff take this into acount - don't make a purchase on your first visit - ride as many bikes as you can - the right one will become self-evident - also visit as many bike stores and make sure your answers are being addressed bu the sales staff - they should have plenty of time for you at this time of the year |
where do you live? undoubtedly somebody on this board will have a reccomendation for a good LBS near you

be sure to sheck out the road bike reviews listed elsewhere on this site. It is feedback from owners that usually list the good with the bad as far as the bike they own. It also lists by price range too.
