Cannondale EX Cranks?(2 posts)

Cannondale EX Cranks?Hollis

Just bought 'em & just heard a horror story...the splined version is hard to remove, if not impossible.
I heard a guy had to cut this C'dale crank off.

Anybody else have these? Any Problems?

Thanks

I have this expert crank on my R600 2001 cannondale. Had my bottom bracket gupped to stop it from creaking. My LBS just used a Park PP-4 crank remove the crank arms. The old crank remover I got doesn't remove the spline cranks. Shimino makes this crank for Cannondale, so it's the same crank model as the 105.

Maybe the person you talked to had some rust on their cranks (Rode in wet weather alot). I removed some MTB cranks in pass that busted my knuckles on to remove. I usually put a very light coat of grease on my spindle before I reinstall my crank arms. I'm not sure if this applies to the spline cranks. I would ask my local LBS mechanic.
