need upright road rig...merckx56

the wife wants another road bike, but she doesn't want the drop bars. she likes the upright road stuff that is out there right now. the two shops in town are staffed by stoned college kids or hourly employees, who don't know poo from shine-ola. i know there are folks on this board who either own, manage or work at a shop. i refuse to give my $ to these bozos in town. i'm looking for a specialized sirrus sport in either small or medium, preferably last years' and a deal. i know specialized is closing 'em out, so see what you can do... if there are other options, please let me know! remember, upright road, not a hybrid! i think a majority of companies make these rigs.

I don't remember which model it was exactly- I think it was the Sirrus Comp, that struck everybody at the shop by how nice it was. If it helps, it was all blue, including blue Mavic rims. We all agreed that that model was the bike to have in that particular category (that is, if you weren't going to get a Merlin Newsboy).

The category was a rapidly expanding one, with Bianchi's Strada, Schwinn had an entry that you can probably get for free. But that blue Specialized was the best value of all of them.

Bianchi Strada -- looks like just the ticket.
