Strong, light and cheap. Bikeusa had it on sale for $350 before. I think you can still buy it cheap from ibicbikes.com.

I weigh 190lbs and these wheels were a major pain in the butt for me. Rear constantly came out of true. I eventually sold them to a lighter guy (probably 145lbs) who hasn't had a bit of trouble. Just my experience.

I weigh 210 and have been on Orion Comps since March or April of 01'. I had a little over 2,000 miles on the first pair before I sold that bike and a little over 1,000 miles on my current pair. I have had no problems. These wheels have the same number of spokes (24F, 28R) as the Circuit Comps. And for $450 dollars and at 1,650 grams, they are pretty light for that price range. I rode Rolf Vector Comps on a Trek 5200 and I believe those were in the 1,800 - 1,900 range.

Last summer I built up a set of wheels for my brother that cost about $325 and beat the Ascent comps (yes, I said the ascent's) by about 40 grams for the wheelset. What I used was Velocity aerohead rims (28 hole rear and 24 hole front). I laced the wheels up to an american classic hubset. DT revolutions laced radially to the front. The rear was radial non-drive (again revolutions). Drive side rear was DT competition 14/15 DB laced two cross. The wheelset performed flawlessly all summer. Check out Mike Garcia at www.oddsandendos.com if you want someone to build the wheels for you or just need the parts to do the build yourself.
