Hey, I'm not really that insensitive - just lost a good and accomplished biking buddy to his own hand. Very sad state of affairs and we all suffer as a result. Ultimately the person needs help, but feels there's no where to turn and they don't want to burden others with their problems. Take the time to really talk to your friends and above all listen. You may have to read between the lines to understand what they're really saying. A successful suicide is really a grim affair and in many ways worse than a true accident since it may have been prevented. I can't help but think that the person may be quite surprised by the size of the impact that their choice creates - it really contradicts the whole notion that they "don't want to be a burden to anyone."
