Newbie Bike Question(12 posts)

Newbie Bike Questionatlcyclist

I am just getting into road riding, and I am about to buy my first road bike. A buddy of mine is selling a 1999 GIANT TCR-2R WITH CONTROLTECH STEM, CARBON FORKS, CARBON SEAT POST, LOOK PEDALS, SHIMANO 105 GROUP.
He paid $1250 for just the bike, and has a total of about $2000 worth of stuff he is selling me for $ 800.00. He has receipts for everything, and the bike has only been riden 4 times, with about 70 miles total. The bike is a perfect fit for me, and in mint condition.
Is this a good deal for someone who is just getting started? I appreciate any input you may have. Thanks!
Seems like a good deal to me.McAndrus

I don't quite understand your numbers, but if he is selling it to you for $800, that's a steal.
