...i can spray on a jacket (PI Staccato) to make it kinda water resistant so that i could also use it on damp(er) days?

next question...can someone explain intervals please? cyclinseth says "I went up to the local park that has a 3.5 mile loop with a 300 yard rise. I hesitate to call it a hill. I started out doing one or two intervals." now, would an interval be increased power segments throughout the whole loop, or just the climb, or neither?

Scotchgard is one; you can get it at any grocery store. Outdoor places like REI and Campmor have half a dozen or so.

I recall an article some time ago that tested K-Mart's version of Scotchguard against the real Scotchguard....and the tests indicated that the K-Mart's version repelled water better,longer and was cheaper...
