a Question for you mechanics out there:
Will Shimano DT shifters mount directly into the bosses on my '92 Specialized carbon frame? The old Ultegra STI's are not shifting and I'm converting the bike into my foul-weather/beater bike. I figure downtube shifters will be cheaper and easier to maintain. Thanks for any help.

They should bolt on fine. D/T shifter bosses haven't changed, that I'm aware of in years. In fact Lance Armstrong used a DT shifter for the front derailleur in the Tour.
