|I download every workout. I find it damned useful for keeping track of progress, particularly when I'm cross-training.
Where can you get the Pro trainer XT for $99?

|The Protrainer got a LOT cheaper with the advent of the S710 and other downloadable (S510) Polar models that are priced in the friggin' stratosphere.
$300 for an HRM? I don't THINK so. The Protrainer will make you plenty happy. I think that for a hard core pro athlete wanting to hyperanalyze training effects over time, downloadable info could be quite important, but for most folks with whom I ride, the download feature is a fun toy and little else.
Of course, I have certain retrogrouch impulses. I pretty much only use the pulse readout and ignore the other features of my swanky HRM. In hindsight, I should have bought a $50 model.
