|Which frame should I go between Eddy Merckx team SC and LOOK 281? Which one should be more last long?|

|You may want to run a search on scandium in here since there was a discussion on it just last week. I think scandium alloyed aluminum is great if you are sponsored and don't have to pay for your frames. The word is they don't last more than 2 years due to an accelerated fatigue failure rate. I don't know how factual this is, but you'll have a tough time finding any manufacturer give them a decent warranty. Scandium is supposed to ride a touch smoother than many big-tubed aluminum frames. If you want to try one and don't mind replacing it in a year or two, then go for it. Merckx quality is among the best. I checked one out and it was well made and super light. I ordered their Fuga frame instead for a smoother ride and longer life span.
You can't lose with the Look KG281! The price is close to the Merckx, but it should ride smoother and last much longer. This frame is a pro favorite for many good reasons. I'm sure 281 owners will speak up, or you can check out the Reviews section. I'd love to have one but my sponsoring shops don't carry them so no discounts for me. Just make sure you get something that FITS you.

|There both high quality frames... I really don't think durability is much of the issue. The 281 is now cheaper, and you don't have to deal with new integrated headset availability issue. But damn, that Eddy sure looks sweet though... Wish I had your choice problem! Good luck HOP|| |
