I'm relieved that it's too small for me. Might make a nice beater, fixie or winter bike. :)

Saw that too. Stuck out to me. Just like every time I visit the Pinarello website. Shimano on them just sticks out like a sore thumb to me. I'm not Campy only person either. It just seems to scream to me.

Look through any Italian framemakers catalog and you will see bikes with both brands of components. And contrary to popular belief, if you were to go to Italy and do a group ride you would see more bikes kitted with Shimano than Campy.

The hilarious thing about Euro rides is that they're full of Colnago owners lusting after Trek's and Cannondales.

back when I worked in shops, I sold tons of Treks and C'dales to Italians. And when I'm in Italy, people always check out my DA equipped bike.

Well I think you took our comments the wrong way, its just unusual to see Shim on a Richard S bike, check out his site and you see he is a bit of an Italian retro grouch, meant in the nicest possible way:)

Currently I ride a 5500 Trek with Shim!!! But lusting after a Sachs, got to wait a few yrs till wedding anniversary, when we plan to treat each other to new "dream bikes" Guess which one in on my list!

yeah, Sachs says he'll build the bike up for you if you want Campy, but if you want Shimano, "you're on your own." I'm a Shimano fam too, but if I got a Sachs, it would have Campy--I'd love one in white with red panels, built with Chorus and downtube shifters (I think the carbon Record stuff would look wrong on his bikes).

Just look at TDF tape. Shimano has a pretty decent stranglehold on team sponsorships. That really means nothing to me. I'm lucky enough to have a both DA and Rec 10 on top notch American and Italian rigs. No grass is greener syndrome going on here!
