|After about a 20 year haiatus (how ever you spell that)I got back on a bike. After about 25 years I whent back to tubs, I'll never go back. Any way today I think I ran into what may have single handedly removed tubs from the mind of the masses. Noramly I've been using a glue that is brownish. It's been great not all that messy acitone cleans it up. Off of me and anything else. Today I ran into a glue that is white. What the heck is this crap? It's messy and it just laughs at acitone. I had some Pratt and Lambert Durasol kicking around and that did get it off me. I think this stuff is a Toulene Xylene mixture.
Any way I never want to see this stuff again. Is there a special name for the brown glue and this white stuff?

|... dunno what you got ahold of, but I use Vittoria Mastik One (brown) almost exclusively... fundamentally for consistency's sake.
I've also noted that Tufo is marketing an adhesive strip... that would take a bit of the mess outta glueups.
http://www.tufonorthamerica.com/accessories.html I've not tried it...
There are several makes of glues on the market... all a variation on a contact cement theme...
I've never used Fast Tac.

|I would be leary of the Tufo adhesive strip. I tried 4 of the Tufo tires this season and had problems with all of them. They seem to come apart where the valve stem goes into the tire. I normally don't glue right up to the valvestem hole but did after the first failure. I even mounted the tire over "wet" glue to see if that would help. I have returned to Conti comp front and sprinter back with conti glue.|

|Are you speaking of Tubasti (sp), a 'white' glue that I've never used, but have heard of negative reviews from others? I use Vittoria Mastik 1 or Continental. Both are 'brownish.' Neither have failed me.|

|Yes it is the Tubasti. The negative reviews are warranted. Stay clear of the "MACKGOO".|
|It's called TUBASTI||Rusty McNasty|

|or maybe it's GUTTA. Either way, it's $h!t. Scrape it all off.
The brown stuff was maybe a clear glue (like conti, etc.) which has seperated.
